A Great Way to Help Kids Help Themselves
I don’t think anyone would claim that being a parent is easy. However, there are ways to make that stress a lot easier to carry. In particular, I think the biggest hint I can give people is to simply allow others to help out. There’s a huge community of potential out there if you’re willing to look. Take my daughter for example. She was showing some real self esteem issues. Part of it was because she was showing some extra pounds. Some of it was just because she didn’t think she had much in common with her peers. We signed her up for a dance workshop though, and the help she received was amazing. She took to dance like a real natural. But what was really fantastic was the way the whole group of kids there came together as friends. The more they all practiced their dance together, the more they came together to support each other.
