Mashed potatoes must be perfect with just enough butter, cream, salt and pepper. So – how can I make mashed potatoes? First, as the ingredients I will use 5 pounds of potatoes, heavy cream, butter, milk, salt and pepper. The potatoes need to be peeled and cut into cubes. Next the potatoes need to be placed in a saucepan and covered and cooked on a medium heat. You may add a little salt at this point. Once the potatoes are at a boil, it will need to be cooked for a further 15 minutes on a low heat. Remove the potatoes and drain the water. Put the potatoes into a masher, add the butter and cream. While the masher is working the whisk, pour milk little at a time. You may now add salt and pepper to taste.
